Vitis Fabula - Découvrir le patrimoine narbonnais

Discover the heritage of the Narbonnais

Wine is as much a part of the region’s heritage as its incomparable natural setting, between sea and lakes, plain and limestone foothills. Rooted in a thousand years of history, the region’s traditions and culture have been handed down from generation to generation.

Winetourism
is a living lesson in history and geography !

Vitis Fabula - Apprendre à déguster

Learn wine tasting

In a winery, among the vines, at home with friends, awaken your senses to the gold or deep red, the aromas of spices and garrigue, the salty freshness, the notes of stewed fruit.
Here, wine is named after the terroirs of La Clape, Quatourze, Corbières and Minervois.

Winetourism
means travelling through a world of sensations !

Vitis Fabula - Vivre de belles rencontres

Meeting new people

Winegrower hospitality has been around as long as wine itself. And when a winegrower tells you about his love of the land, the promising seasons, the gestures in the vineyard that produce good grapes and the secrets of wine-making, a job well done becomes a shared experience before turning into a pleasure for the palate.

Winetourism
is all about creating beautiful memories !

Winetourism according to
Vitis Fabula

I settled in the south of France a few years ago, after a varied career, particularly abroad. Narbonne is where two seas meet : the Grande Bleue, sung by Charles Trenet, the local boy, and a sea of vines that has shaped the landscapes, traditions and spirit of freedom that the troubadours were already singing about in the Middle Ages.

I was delighted to discover these two horizons, understanding why the Romans established their first colony in Gaul at this strategic crossroads and how wine has been at the heart of the local heritage since the beginning of our era.

Each wine bears the imprint of its terroir and the personality of the winemaker who makes it. It expresses the cultural identity of the region just as much as it reveals the identity of the plot where the generous bunches of grapes with pretty names like bourboulenc, maccabeu, carignan or piquepoul have matured.

Every vine and every wine has a story to tell, and that’s the mission of Vitis Fabula.

I’d like to share with you :

The knowledge I’ve gained from travelling the length and breadth of my adopted region, in books and from listening to local scholars…
My amazement at the buds bursting open, the juicy grapes changing colour, the age-old gestures of the harvesting hand…

My appetite for all the local delicacies that are an integral part of the region’s quality of life – I’m an epicurean in every sense of the word, as you’ll have gathered by now…

And the emotion that comes from tasting: the perception of aromas, the sensation of flavours, the revelation of the artistic talent of the blender, create memories, like poetry learned in childhood, engraved forever in our memory.

I’d like to share all this with you, because the experiences I’m proposing around vines, wine and the history of the Narbonnais region celebrate the art of living in the Languedoc and the art of simply being together.
